When the Bible calls Jesus “the last Adam” (1 Corinthians 15:45), it reveals something profound: Jesus came to restore everything the first Adam lost. His mission wasn’t random, and His message wasn’t religious. He didn’t come to start a religion—He came to reestablish a Kingdom.
The first Adam was not a religious person. He was not part of any religious system. He was, as Luke 3:38 puts it, “the son of God.” He was created in God’s image and likeness and placed in the earth with authority and dominion (Genesis 1:26–28). He ruled under God’s kingship, carrying the weight of Heaven’s purpose in a physical realm.
This is why Jesus couldn’t come with a religion. If He had, He would have been offering something God never intended for Man in the first place. Instead, Jesus came declaring, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” He was announcing the restoration of the original assignment—to bring Man back into relationship, rulership, and dominion under God.
To truly understand the mission of Jesus, you must first understand the assignment of the first Adam. Adam was given territory, authority, and power—and when he fell, all of that was given away. But Jesus, the last Adam, came to reclaim the dominion, restore sonship, and reintroduce Heaven’s government to Man. Through Jesus Christ, we are not just saved from sin—we are restored to dominion. We are made sons and daughters again and reconnected to God’s original intent for us.
Reflection: Are you living as a religious follower or as a Kingdom citizen? Have you embraced your role as a son or daughter who carries The Kingdom of God? Jesus came not just to forgive you—but to restore you to dominion.
Prayer: Father, thank You for sending Jesus, the last Adam, to restore everything that was lost. Help me to walk in the reality of Your Kingdom and live as a true son/daughter with authority, purpose, and power. I receive the King-Dominion You came to give. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
